WSO2, a SOA middleware maker, presented the new Gadget Server based on well-known technology.

Paul Fremantle, the founder of WSO2 CTO said: “WSO2 Gadget Server is built upon Apache Shindig, an Apache incubation project that uses Google’s OpenSocial container (the technology behind Google Gadgets) as its core rendering technology to build gadgets”.

You can install the Gadget Server in a data center. Also it’s possible to do it with the help of Amazon web Service. This server is much easier for installation and has improved functions.

Gadgets are just HTML and JavaScript wrapped in a simple XML container. “Get anyone who is a Web programmer, and they can build a gadget.” It creates content feeds, and integrates LDAP or Active Directory services.

Also WSO2 developed the user monitor based on gadgets. It is called Business Activity Monitor or BAM. Gadget Server and BAM are free in sell. The start price is $8.000.
